Training with
EvanTell and IBAC
The Lord has focused much of our ministry efforts more and more in training believers through IBAC and EvanTell.
The ministry of EvanTell exists to encourage and equip individuals and churches to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The name EvanTell is made up of two words from the combined English “Evangelism” and “Tell.” For 47 years, EvanTell has been training Christians around the world to share the gospel with confidence, clarity, and kindness. Kevin and a few coworkers have been the first to be certified to teach this material in Spanish. (More information on the EvanTell site HERE.)

In person and via Zoom (Wow, how the Lord used the pandemic to expand ministry opportunities!), we have shared EvanTell in Costa Rica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Argentina.

One of our primary ministries involves equipping church leaders in Latin America through the theological training of IBAC -- Institutos Bíblicos de América y el Caribe (IBAC /Biblical Institutes of the Americas and the Caribbean). IBAC is a ministry established by Dr. Jim Wilson (Th.M.; D.Min., Dallas Theological Seminary) with the purpose of mobilizing the local church and equipping leaders throughout Latin America. (More information on the IBAC site HERE.)

The reality for pastors around the world today is one wherein bi-vocational pastoring is the norm. This is not right or wrong; it is just the reality. There are many difficulties faced by bi-vocational pastors and the emerging church leader:
-
time management—in that they often have two full time jobs
-
isolationism from other ministers
-
finding the means to study and grow in a formal environment
Only five percent of the world’s pastors have formal theological training. The ministry of IBAC is an opportunity to equip pastors and church leaders through a long-term commitment and relationship. The IBAC program provides biblical, theological, and pastoral training to Latin American pastors/leaders who are in desperate need of such training, but who have little access to it.
Kevin has been involved personally with IBAC since 2017; it has been a real blessing to work with the much needed and appreciated pastoral training. Each 14-module course is taught in two modules a year or three modules a year depending upon the adopting US church. The adopting North-American church covers the cost of materials, meals, a donation for a translator (as needed), and a donation for the use of the national hosting church location. These costs vary per country.

The adopting US church also provides teachers of the material provided through IBAC. IBAC members accompany the visiting teachers throughout every course.

For each module, teachers from sponsoring churches are invited to teach with Kevin and share with these co-workers in the faith.
